WorkforceRI.com is a website managed by the Governor’s Workforce Board in collaboration with public and non-profit organizations who provide employers with workforce development services and programs.

The mission of WorkforceRI.com is to simplify the employer experience and more easily connect employers to the range of programs and services that are available to help meet their workforce needs. By doing so, the workforce system can better serve our job seekers by opening up more opportunities for employment and career advancement. Employers can answer a few simple questions to help determine which services are right for them and may also search directly for specific programs. The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to inform users (“you” or User”) of what information WorkforceRI (“we” or “us”) collects and how we use that information.

Non-personal Information We Collect

We gather and store certain information that does not identify you personally. Such non-personal information may include the internet domain name, if any, of a web site that had a link to WorkforceRI.com and the Internet Protocol address from which you access the WorkforceRI.com website; the type of browser and operating system used to access the Site; the date and time you access the Site; the address of any website from which you used a link to access the Site; and the Site pages or areas and services you accessed during your visit to the Site. We only use such data anonymously and in the aggregate. This data is not used to track or monitor personally identifiable information of individual Users. We gather and monitor this data to analyze trends, to administer the Site, track Users’ movements on the Site and gather broad demographic information. Non-personal information helps us determine what services and tools are most beneficial to our visitors, and how we can best serve employers, individuals, and the community.

Personally Identifiable Information We Collect

We only collect personal information about you that you choose to provide to us when you elect to contact an individual program or the Governor’s Workforce Board. The type of personally identifiable information we receive and collect about individual Users of our Site includes information such as employer name, contact name, contact information, location, and some program-specific information that relate to eligibility for that program.

We may also ask you for other information which you may choose to provide at your sole discretion, such as information regarding your user experiences, your opinion regarding various features of our Site and the types of programs you are interested in.

We DO NOT collect or store tax identification numbers or financial information

How We Use Personally Indentifiable Information Collected

We employ third parties to perform functions on our behalf, such as hosting our web servers. Such third parties will have access to your information only as necessary to perform their functions, but they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information and are prohibited from using, selling or otherwise sharing your personal information.

All Users should be aware that when they voluntarily display or distribute personal information such as their email address to others that information can be collected and used by the intended recipient of such information. This may result in unsolicited messages from third parties for which we are not responsible.

We may make content or services from other web sites available to you from links located on the Site. These other web sites are not subject to this Privacy Policy. If you provide any information to parties who operate web sites that are linked to our Site, different rules may apply to the collection, use or disclosure of your personal information by such other party. We are not responsible for any such party’s use of your personal information. The Site is intended for the use by employers. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personally identifiable information from or about individuals under the age of thirteen (13) except as permitted by law.

All personally identifiable information we collect about you is stored in limited-access servers. The Site has technical, administrative and physical security measures and safeguards in place to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. While we are committed to placing reasonable and appropriate safeguards to protecting your personal information against foreseeable risks, no computer system or information can ever fully protect your information against foreseeable risks, no computer system or information can ever fully protect against every possible hazard, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized third parties will not be able to circumvent those safeguards or use your personal information for improper purposes.

Your continued use of our Site following the posting of changes to this Privacy Policy will mean you accept those changes.
